1. Step One
Before you start
Check if you have these necessary documents:
UK driving licence number;
Credit or debit card;
Driving instructor’s personal reference number, if you want to check they’re available;
Also you must have lived in England, Wales or Scotland for at least 185 days in the last 12 months before the day you take your test.
2. Step Two
Start now
After checking you can press “Start now”
Remember that driving test bookings are available up to 24 weeks in the future.
DVSA service is available from 6 am to 11:40 pm.
3. Step Three
Choose type of test
Begin your booking by choosing your test type and then clicking “Continue”.
4. Step Four
Licence details
Fill out the licence details and click “Continue”.
Note: You cannot proceed if your theoretical test has expired.
5. Step Five
Enter preferred date
Even if no test dates are available, choose the one that suits you, and then click “Continue”.
6. Step Six
Find and choose a centre
Search the nearest centre by your home postcode or by test centre name.
You need to select the driving test centre you want to schedule appointments at.
7. Step Seven
Choose test time
You will be shown a calendar with available and unavailable dates.
Click on a day that works for you, and the timings for that day will appear below.
Click “Continue” after selecting the appropriate time.
8. Step Eight
Enter your details
Fill out the personal information: first and last name, address and town.
Then press “Continue”
9. Step Nine
Proceed with the payment
Last part is a payment for the driving test.
After that, in a couple of minutes, DVSA will send an email confirmation.
